Girls Camp! :)

Last week I had the opportunity to go to girls camp as a leader. It was so much fun. I was over the second years, and let me just say I got the best group of girls there. :) Our camp theme was "Fear Not to Do Good" We used the fear factor logo on our T-shirts, but  instead of the words "Fear Factor" we put "Fear Not" and then below it, "to do good." We played some fear factor games (not gross ones though). We went on a very beautiful hike...and let me tell you, I hate hiking, so for me to say that, is a big deal. :) We went swimming, and made crafts. I braided a lot of hair, which is good practice for me. The last night we had a devotional. The goal was to help the girls become closer to the Savior and understand His life better. It was a very spiritual experience. I won't give away what we did cause I want to do the same thing for my family when I get home. :) It was the second time that I had experienced it myself, but it was just as special the second time.

This is a picture I took while on the hike. We stopped at this little chapel. I love how the sun is shining just perfectly!

We mad these necklaces out of dominos. They are super cute :) I made one for me and one for Bekka

Here are my 2nd years! :)

This is what the T-shirts look like. I think they turned out awesome :)
I made a bracelet for all of my 2nd years. Since the theme is "Fear Not" We decided to put TLC on the braclets for "To Love Christ" (Fear Not To Love Christ)

Makeup!

Here are some more looks that I created. I hope you enjoy them!

With this one I used silver, pink, and dark purple

For this one I used gold, teal, and then teal mixed with charcoal

Yay! finally someone else for a change..... :)

For Rachel's makeup I used gold, a pearly neon green, then a dark green mixed with charcoal

I love this one. She has a very nice natural shape to her eyes.

I think she looks pretty cute. It really makes her blue eyes stand out. :)

More Makeup! :)

So I think the title "Makeup Moments" sounds a little lame. Does anyone else have a better idea? Anyway, I have a few more makeup looks, if you wanna take a look ;)

This is one that I did with purple, silver, and a pearlish gold sand color

I put the pearl color on the inside section of my lid, the the lighter purple on the middle section of my lid, and for the outer section of my lid I used purple mixed with a charcoal black to make it darker. Then I put a gold sand color over the pearl color. I lined my eyes with a black liner. If you look closely you can see a slight cat eye.

One more view of this look
For this look I used the same pearl and gold sand color for the inside of my lid. For the middle area I used a light green color and the for the outer areaI used a darker green mixed with charcoal to darken it even more. I of course used black eyeliner and did a cat eye.
Same look. On all of these posted I used  the same technique on the rest of my makeup as I did on my first look.
I really need to find more models so I'm not all you see, sorry, its a little repetitive! :/

This one is my favorite so far that I've posted on my blog. :)

With this look I used the same pearl and gold sand colors (I know, I know, I really like those 2 ok! :) ) for the inside of my lid. For the middle area I used a light blue and for the outside area I used dark blue mixed with charcoal (yes, I like to do that too! )

When you are doing makeup, one of the most imortant things to master is blending! It is really important that your colors flow. You want each color to fade into the next.

Yes, there are a lot of this one, but like I said, its my favorite one! :)

Ok, last one! Which look is your favorite? Do you have any suggestions of looks you would like to see? Thanks for viewing  my blog and please please leave a comment! :)

Makeup Moments

So I have a new idea! I hope y'all think its a good one. I know there aren't very many people who actually read my blog and of those few, only one or two of them actually comment. So to make this work, I need your feedback. As many of you know, I LOVE makeup! Its just one of those things that make me happy. :) So I thought why not post about things that I love and makes me happy? My idea is to post pictures of the makeup that I do and YOU can post your comments or questions..or even your requests. I'm not sure how much interest this will have so I'll just start out by posting pictures of looks that I've done, and if y'all are interested in knowing what exact colors I used and how I did it then I will go more into detail. My goal is to share with others my talents and to improve my skills...and to get the word out there that I do makeup! :) I realize that there are others out there with more training and more advanced skills than me, but I'm doing my best. :) I hope you enjoy my first look that I created....

I should have gotten a close up on my eyes...sorry I'm not a photographer and my
camera isn't the best quality. :)

For this look I used White (for the highlight of course). I used gold for the inner corner,
and hot pink for the middle area and purple for the outer area and a little black mixed                         with purple for the crease. I used black eyeshadow as eyeliner for top inside of my eye  lid
and waterline. (applied before the shadow) Then, after applying shadow I used Black liquid
                         liner on top.
On my cheekbones I used a light pink. In the hollow of
(just below my cheekbones I used a bronzer. I also used the bronzer in my
T-area (across my forehead and down the center of my nose and chin.) Remember, you
                        only need a little bronzer.

.

This last picture was taken about 6 hours later. It still looks pretty good. Although its
not really a close up, sorry.

I hope you all enjoyed this first look. Please give me your feedback! I would love to answer
answer questions or read your comments! Do be afraid to give me advice! :)

Feeling a deeper love from our Heavenly Father

This past Saturday I said goodbye for 18 months to my best friend Bekka Baum. She is leaving to serve a mission in San Fernando, California. We are super close, we haven't spent a full day apart in over a year. I knew it would be a hard adjustment. Being that I am the only one of my siblings to have gone on a mission, I've never really experienced someone close to me leaving on a mission. I also do not do well with change. I fear the unknown and the unfamiliar. As it got closer to her leaving I tried to prepare myself mentally, I thought for the most part I was ready. I really was excited for her. I knew it would to be a great experience and that she would learn so much more than she could imagine and touch so many lives. As early Saturday morning came and the time left got shorter and shorter I started to panic. I wanted to beg her to stay. I knew, knowing the blessings that come from serving a mission, I couldn't ask her to do that. I had to learn to be strong. How could I deny her the same testimony building experiences that I had had when I served a mission? So we said our goodbyes and she boarded her plane as tears welled up in my eyes. The rest of the day was like torture. I felt so alone. I felt as if I had a hole in my heart. I was very emotional. It was hardest at night when I was in my room alone. I cried myself to sleep. Then next seem easier as I went to church and felt the spirit. On the way to church we listened to a song that talked about letting Christ take away our burdens, that we don't have to carry them alone. Of course I knew this already, but it seemed to really apply to me at that point. Later that day I called an talked to my Mom and she told me it was ok to cry and that it was going to be ok. This helped but I still felt empty inside That night as I laid on my bed. I really broke down. I cried really hard. I didn't know what to do. I felt so alone. Eventually I couldn't take it anymore, and I remembered that song I heard in the car earlier. I got down on my knees and said a prayer, begging Heavenly Father to take it away from me. I couldn't do it anymore, I couldn't do it alone. I finished praying and turn on some music that its always very comforting to me (music I listen to on my mission) I laid there and listened to the words and felt the comfort of the Holy Ghost soothe me to sleep. The next day I felt so much better. I still miss Bekka and I know there will still be hard days ahead but I know now more than ever that Heavenly Father loves me so much! I know He watches over His children and takes care of them, especially His girls...maybe cause we're a little more drama filled. Maybe to some of you this may seem a little silly to have such a hard time with this. But it was a very real struggle for me. I feel so much more comforted now and at peace. I hope that all of you know how much Heavenly Father loves you, and if you don't I challenge you to find out. The Atonement is so real, and can touch all aspects of our lives.

My week so far, in a nut shell...

- I weighed myself on Monday so I'll let y'all know next Monday how I did for the week.
- Hopefully my car will be getting fixed this week, that would be awesome. :) It pretty frustrating to
not have a car. There is a guy in the ward that is going to fix it for me. Yay!
- We are working on getting the pool going this week...hopefully (cross your fingers)
- I'm really excited about Easter this weekend! I love the Easter season and yay, Ross is closed on
Easter so I won't have to work.
-I'm not sure if I'm still going to be entering the makeup contest since I'm running out of time and I
have to use some other their products which I would have to order and I don't know if they will get
here in time...we'll see. If not I will definitely be on the lookout for another contest to enter. I want to    challenge myself an improve my skills. I'm also looking into Makeup artistry classes that I can take
when I move back to Utah.
